Women may be used to hearing that high heels can be a source of back problems, but did you know that other articles of clothing may be doing your body more harm than good? If you’re dealing with back aches, examine your weekly wardrobe to see if you’re wearing any of these items frequently.
1. Skinny jeans. This popular fashion trend may be cute and comfy, but new research says that tight jeans may restrict movement in the hips and knees, interrupting proper body posture.
2. Backless shoes. Wearing sandals without a back can lead to foot problems as you’ll walk differently than you normally would.
3. Oversized shoulder bags. Men, women and children who carry heavy purses or backpacks every day can develop back problems. A good rule of thumb is to make sure your bag is no more than 10% of your body weight and not carried to one side.
Sneaky Ways to Eat Your Veggies
Kids aren’t the only ones who may need to infuse their diet with more veggies. Some adults have an aversion to anything that’s green and healthy. Fortunately, there are some easy, sneaky ways to get more of the good stuff into your daily diet.
One of the simplest ways to eat more vegetables is by tossing them into your morning smoothie. Kale, spinach and other nutrient-dense greens blend well with fruit, Greek yogurt, almond milk, or other smoothie staples.
Another tasty way to add vegetables to your diet is by replacing pasta with them. A nifty kitchen tool known as a spiralizer allows you to quickly turn zucchini, yellow squash, beets or other vegetables into curly, pasta-like strands. Pair them with a healthy marinara for a guilt-free, delicious dinner.

A variety of standing desks are on the market today. The advantage of an adjustable standing desk is you can stand for half of your workday and sit for the other half.
Consider alternating between sitting and standing every half hour to hour. To add more variety, try marching or jogging in place or even dancing to your favorite tunes while you work. You might be surprised by how much energy you’ll have by standing more!
